News on Thames Road

Two weeks in and we've had over 1200 visitors to the website, with nearly 400 comments from around 100 individuals (plus a pile of surveys we are still entering). This round of the consultation will remain open until the end of July so keep giving us your views. You can also agree with comments made by others.

There have been some fantastic ideas and suggestions, particularly about what should be included in the community leisure facility. So far a swimming pool seems to be topping the charts for which sports facilities we should prioritise.

There are of course some crucial questions, and you will start to see answers posted over the coming weeks on the website to comments. One issue that has been raised frequently is about the capacity of the DLR. You may not have seen but from 2023 (before the first phase of these plans would be completed) new trains will be rolled out . On the Woolwich Arsenal branch serving Pontoon Dock this would mean a c.97% increase in capacity .

We want to hear from as many local people as possible. The more people involved, the better the needs of the whole community will be reflected in emerging proposals.
